• Purpose: Cleanse the vulva gently, control odor, reduce irritation, and maintain the natural pH balance.

External Washing (Vulva Care)

1. Use Warm Water: For daily cleaning, plain warm water is usually all you need.
2. If Using a Cleanser:
   • Choose a pH-Balanced Wash: If you prefer to use a soap, select a very mild, unscented, and pH-balanced wash (typically around a pH of 3.8 to 4.5) specifically formulated for the intimate area.
   • Fragrance-Free & Gentle: Avoid soaps with heavy perfumes, dyes, or strong antibacterial agents, as these can strip natural oils and disrupt the delicate pH balance, leading to irritation or infections.
3. Wash Gently: Use your hand to gently clean the external folds (the vulva). Avoid harsh scrubbing with loofahs or washcloths.
4. Wipe and Pat Dry: Always wipe from front to back after using the toilet to prevent transferring bacteria from the anus to the vagina. After washing, pat the area dry gently with a clean, soft towel.
